Bellwether is a story about hope in the face of the climate crisis. A coming-of-age musical about Cora Mariposa, a teenage girl navigating complex social dynamics, a love of science, the world of social media, real and fake friendships, and her surprising role as an unwitting climate activist who leads in the face of fossil-fueled power. A science-lover’s musical, it takes complex topics like astrophysics, the greenhouse effect, ecology, and political greenwashing, and makes them both accessible and memorable.
